30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 3

Day 3:  Tell us about your job

First of's not just a job.
It's my career.
It's my passion.
It's my calling.

I'm a special education teacher.
This is my 27th year teaching, and I love it more today than I did in August of 1984 when I first started.
I've taught every grade level, pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.

Currently, I impact lives and impart knowledge to 9th - 12th graders at Marlboro County High School.
Go Bulldogs!!
I teach self-contained Family and Consumer Science and self-contained Health and Wellness to wonderful students who try really hard to do their best.

Truthfully, I cannot think of anything I'd rather do with my life and my time than to spend it with students, kids, children, teenagers, adolescents....whatever you want to call them.
They keep me young and current and alive!
My students show me how to be a better person and how to appreciate small things.
They teach me patience and tolerance.
They teach me as much as I teach them....if not more.

  1. I admire what you do, and understand how difficult it can be at times. One of my best friends is a special ed teacher, with younger kids. She enjoys doing it and she too says that she learns a lot from her students.
