What I'm Loving Wednesday

I"m once again linking up with Jamie for
WHAT I'M LOVING WEDNESDAY...

I'm loving...
that tonight's a Survivor night!
I'm loving...
that the weather has cooled off a little here in SC, and it actually feels like the holiday season is beginning.
I'm loving....
that tomorrow is the first day of December and my
starts tomorrow.  Go link up and join in, if you'd like.

I'm loving...
the pictures of the kids that I took over the weekend.  Now I've just got to decide which will be best for our Christmas cards this year.

I'm loving...
the turkey gnocchi soup that I made from the leftover Thanksgiving turkey legs...YUM!

I'm loving...
the great turnout that we had for the Advent Fair at FUMC.  We made wreaths and ornaments, and then played Christmas BINGO.  Fun, fun, fun!

I'm loving...
that our baby, Pippi, is feeling better.  I was really worried about her at the end of last week.

What and who are you loving today??

WE WANT TO KNOW WEDNESDAYS!

1. What is the worst job you have ever had?  The absolute worst job I ever had was one summer during college when I worked in a factory.  I was on a production line, and it was the most BORING work EVER!!!  That summer taught me a lot about what I wanted in life and what I didn't want for my life.

2. Have you ever been fired?  No, never fired, but I did quit once...

3. What would your dream job be?  I have my dream job!  I teach high school special education in a self-contained class and I love it!

4. What did you want to be when you "grew up"?  I always wanted to be a teacher, and in about 3rd grade, I decided that special education was my area...

5. How old were you when you got your first job?  I was in 6th grade, probably 12,  when I started babysitting (for 50 cents an hour!) for my girl scout leader's young son....and I stayed on as their family's steady hire until I graduated from high school.

My Happy List

Today is a super day to list all of the things that I'm HAPPY about....
so here goes....

We are having benchmark testing here at MCHS, so we are extending first and second periods for about two hours each.  I'm happy because I have great students in both classes and I'll get to spend an extra amount of time with them today!

My children semi-cooperated over the past weekend for my annual picture-taking session.  I always try to take group shots and individuals around the holiday season so I'll have at least one photo to send out with Christmas cards.  I think that most of the pictures turned out pretty good...what do you think??

I'm happy that we had so many family members at the get-together at Larry and Gayle's house on Saturday.

I'm doubly happy that we've already set the date for the next Davis family gathering....
lunchtime on December 31 @ the cabin!
I can hardly wait!

Pippi is feeling better, and that's GREAT news.
She was a little puny over the weekend, but I think it was because she overindulged during Thanksgiving!

I've committed to host a
CHRISTMAS BLOG CHALLENGE
and I'm very excited about it.  I know that everyone will be busy getting ready for holiday festivities and activities, but participating in the challenge should take a little pressure off of you....at least you'll know what you can blog about each day.  The posting can be either super short or as in depth as you'd like....just join in the fun, link up each day, and tell your fiends about it too!

Meet Me on Monday

Questions:

1. I really need to clean my
oven!!

2. What food makes you think of Christmas?  When I think of all of the goodies my mama and I used to make every year, I know it's Christmas!  We made chocolate fudge, divinity, seafoam, mints, cheese biscuits, sausage balls, "trash", salted pecans, sugar and spice pecans, and pralines, to name just a few of the tasty treats....

3. If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be?  I'd probably choose to be 29 or 30....I was still young, but independent and still care-free....ahhhh, those were the days!

4. What was your first paying job?  I was a steady babysitter to two the best children I had ever known....Carl and Krista!  They were my first babies, and I love them to this day!

5. Have you read the Twilight series?  No, I haven't...maybe one day though....

(go link up with Java and let us get to know you better :)

We Want to Know Wednesday

Photobucket

1. What is your favorite food item at Thanksgiving?  I love dressing, rice, gravy, and cranberry sauce....

2. What is your least favorite?  I am not crazy about sweet potatoes...

3. Do you have a favorite pie? (Share a recipe if you want or just tell us about it and make us drool)  I love chocolate chess pie.  My mama made them for every Thanksgiving and Christmas!  YUMMY!!

4. Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions?  When I was growing up, our family went to Charlotte to my sister's house.  In later years, we went to my brother's house in Chester.  Since I've been married, we get together with Chuck's family at Bethel church on Thanksgiving night for supper.

5. Black Friday shopping? Do you participate in the delightful running through the stores in the wee hours or the morning madness or hibernate at home and shop online? I definitely DO NOT participate!  I'm not crazy~~~

Buzz...
