Miscellany Monday

I'm linking up with Carissa for this week's edition of
Miscellany Monday...

Booooo....!  Job shadowing was cancelled for my students today!  I was so looking forward to an easy day without a lot of my students.  Oh well...my lesson plans are written and  my material is copied so I'll just carry on like a good professional.
I know it is after Labor Day but I'm wearing my white pants today.  After all, it is still summertime.
We've got a busy week!  Today I have school, then a teacher's meeting, THEN a departmental meeting!  After that, I have a parent meeting for the girls' volleyball team.  Tuesday and Thursday there are volleyball matches, and Friday is a home football game followed by Postgame on Main!  Whew....I'm getting tired just thinking about it all!

I saw my good friend Jenny today!  Gosh, I miss her so much!  We used to have such great talks every morning before starting our school day.  In the years that we shared a classroom/office, she made me a better teacher by her example of enthusiasm and her fresh outlook on teaching special education.  We are such a good team together.  Am I selfish to wish that she could transfer and come teach at MCHS?  I think not....

Hope everyone had a marvelous
MONDAY!!

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

It has been quite a while since I last
 linked up with Carissa for
M I S C E L L A N Y    M O N D A Y.
We'll see how it goes....

[one]
It's day five of Lawren and Mary Jo's three-week adventure in California.  They miss home, and I miss them, but this is a trip of a lifetime for two 15-year-olds!

[two]
I'm not a Gamecock fan, but I hope that they can pull out a win in tonight's game.
[three]
I have so many things on my to-do list (not really a list because I haven't written anything down) that I want to accomplish over this summer break.  I worked a little in the laundry room last week but still have lots more to go in there.  It was a wreck!  I'd like to paint the kitchen cabinets, my bedroom, the hallway, and maybe other rooms too.  I guess I'll work on all of these projects a little at a time.

[four]
Work continues on the exterior of the house and the roof.  It's looking so good!  Pictures will be posted when construction is completed.

[five]
Florida just made two throwing errors and USC scored a run in the 11th inning
to score a run.  It's 2 - 1.....Go Cocks!

[six]
Charles is an only child while the girls are away, and he's not even taking advantage of it. He gets up early, goes to work at the CCC, and comes home late, showers and goes to bed.  I hardly ever see him.  I guess he's growing up and doesn't have much time for his old mama....

[seven]
The weather here is so hot during the day.  The high today was 99 degrees but the heat index was a lot higher....typical SC summer.  I'm glad I like hot weather.

Go by Carissa's page and link up....before it's Tuesday.... :)

Filll in the Blank Friday

Yes, I know it is Saturday....I'm catching up.... :)

1. The last thing I ate was   a large #6...turkey on wheat with lettuce and tomato, heated....and a diet Mt. Dew..

2. The next thing I'd like to eat is   probably Mexican food from Fiesta Tapita in Cheraw....YUM!!

3. The best things   in life are things that one often takes for gratnted....family, friends, sunshinny days, hugs and kisses, slow, relaxing days, a job/career, and a home filled with laughter and life....

4. Something that makes me supremely and utterly happy is   having a houseful of teenagers....my kids and their friends....

5. Sports are   a way of life in our house. Since I am the parent of high school athletes, I name the seasons by what sport is being played...Fall = football, softball, and volleyball; Winter = basketball and softball; Spring and Summer = softball and golf....

6. I miss   Lawren and Mary Jo....they left Wednesday for a three-week trip to Berkeley and San Francisco....

7. Right now I am    suffering with an annoying headache :(

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

Well, Spring Break 2011 has come to an end....it's back to school.  I was really glad to see all of my students this morning when I came in.  Don't get me wrong, we are all counting down until the end, but it's good to have a job!

The softball game on Saturday against Darlington was INTENSE!!  From the beginning I knew it was going to be a 1-0 game...and it was!  Too bad the Lady Dawgs ended up with the zero!
Then next game is this evening at 7:00 against Cane Bay.  Go Bulldogs!!

And while we're on the subject of sports....
Charles left school early today to travel with the MCHS golf team for their first region match in Hartsville.  Good luck Charles!  Do your best!!
Charles teeing off

We finally got the opportunity to go to the theater to see Water for Elephants.  Since Chuck knew that I'd just finished the book, he kept asking me questions throughout the movie, wanting a comparison between the novel and movie.  I thought that the movie followed the book pretty accurately, and all in all, I was pleased.  Oh, and thanks, Chuck, for the respite from the real world....I enjoyed those two hours of "circus life!"

Last, but certainly not least....thanks to the US soldiers who finally rid the world of a horrific terrorist.  Osama Bin Laden is dead.

Be sure to go link up with Carissa....I did!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

One of my favorites....
What I'm Loving Wednesday!
Go link up with Jamie and join us.
(This week has been much better than last...thankfully!)
I'm loving that the varsity softball team won the region championship!
Go Lady DAWGS!  Playoff action begins next Thursday...
I'm loving that after unnecessarily fretting, I discovered that I had already made our beach reservations for the SCFA convention in June....I made them last July and had totally forgotten!  YAY me!!
I'm loving that I am finished with Water for Elephants, by Sara Gruen, and cannot wait for the movie to be released this Friday, April 22.  If you've not read this novel, pick it up...it's fun and vivid, yet very emotional....and an easy read.
I'm loving that we only have ONE MORE DAY until spring break...
"I think I can, I think I can, I think I can..."
I'm loving that Easter is right around the corner.  My whole Christian faith is based on the fact that Jesus was crucified and died on the cross to save all of us, though we are unworthy and undeserving.  Then my Savior arose from the dead and ascended into heaven to prepare a place for us.  Praise, glory, and honor to our precious Lord!  Happy Easter everyone!
And, of course, I'm loving my sweet husband and my three wild and woolly teenagers...
These four complete me!

Miscellany Monday and Weekend Recap

Once again it is time to link up with Carissa for
MISCELLANY MONDAY...

I know it is Tuesday, but I am just getting around to getting my thoughts together about the weekend and yesterday.....please bear with me....thanx!

Nothing could be sweeter than handing Hartsville their second loss to the Bulldogs!  Marlboro led the entire match-up and crushed the Red Foxes with a final of 4 - 1.  The Hartsville parents and fans were so sure that their girls were thirsty for revenge and they had this game....but they were disappointed...
GO LADY DAWGS!!
Saturday morning started very early!  We got up at 5 AM to go to Columbia for the state FFA tractor driving competition.  Charles, along with four others, drove for the Marlboro team.  Charles had a slip-up and didn't follow the correct course and he was disqualified.  I guess he was too excited or nervous....but that's OK.  We had fun!

After the competition, we drove over to Columbia College to see Deanna play softball.  The stormy weather cleared up long enough for the Koalas to play, but sadly, we didn't get to see Dee play.  The coach didn't put her in until the last inning of the second game.

Sunday was a relaxing day.  We went to Sunday school and church, had lunch, and then napped all afternoon.  The girls had sb practice and Charles worked at the CCC, but Chuck and I obviously needed rest....

Monday was a regular school day for all five of us.  There were a lot of teachers absent from school so Mrs. Suggs had to cover a class and I was alone in our class.  I sure miss her when she's not in class.  After school, Chuck, Josh, and I left for Camden.  The varsity girls played against the Camden Bulldogs and were victorious with a final of 21 to 0....it wasn't even a game!

Today is beautiful!  The weather is warm and sunny and promises to be a perfect spring day.  Charles has his last home golf match this afternoon in Clio.  Hopefully I'll be able to make at least part of it after the SIC meeting here at MCHS.

I'm sure that my ramblings are not typical of other bloggers Miscellany Monday posts, but my life is consumed with my husband, children, church, and school.  I just write about what I live, what I know, and what I love.

Happy Monday and Tuesday Y'all!!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm  so pleased to participate in this week's edition of
What I'm Loving Wednesday!
(Keep reading and you'll see why...)

I'm loving that the MC Lady Bulldogs varsity softball team defeated the Darlington Falcons in a long, defensive game.  The score was 0 - 0 for most of the game, and in the bottom of the 7th, Dakota hit a double and brought in the only run of the game, and Marlboro was victorious!  It was seroiusly a  tense game, but everyone was so happy that the Bulldogs came out on top!!

I'm loving little Pippi, MJ's puppy.  She is certainly a handful, but cute as she can be!

Sorry, but I'm definitely NOT loving all of this rainy, cool weather.  C'mon now....it's about April!  We need sunshine and warmth!

I'm loving that Charles has a prospective job on the line.  He may start working on the greens at Clio Country Club!  HOORAY!!  He needs a paying job!!

I'm loving, as always, my three lively teenagers and my sweet, reliable husband.  They are my reasons for being.....I love you all!

Miscellany Monday

Once again, I'm linking up with Carissa for this week's edition of Miscellany Monday....one of my favorite memes of the week!

Happy MLK, Jr. Day....another school holiday for us.....
We have not been to school since the middle of December because of our winter intercession and then the snow....
Secretly, I'm ready to go back to work, but I've seriously enjoyed my time off....I've slept late just about every day, and spent QT with my family!!!

We have a new baby in the house.....
Isn't she precious??
Her name is Pippi,  and we love her!!

I have received so many cool postcards from different people all over the world.  Here are just a few that I got this past week.
from Canada

from The Netherlands

from Germany
Go to http://www.postcrossing.com/ and start your own collection!

The girls, Chuck, and I went to Timmonsville to the Honda plant for our first meeting with the parents and coaches of the Palmetto Force.  Lawren is going to play on the 18U showcase team and MJ is on the 16U team.  One of my goals for my
Day Zero Project (101 in 1001) was to find an established fastpitch softball team
for the girls, and I think I've done just that! I'm really excited about the girls playing softball this spring, summer, and fall!
Hope everyone has a super Monday!  I plan to.... :)
