I'm happy that it's Valentine's Day and I have a wonderful family that I love with all of my heart.  My children, as imperfect as they are, and my husband, who is even more imperfect, are JUST RIGHT for me.

I'm happy that I'm am striving to be a better blogger.  I've been MIA for a month or so but am going to try to get myself together and make a return to the www.

I'm happy that I've started crocheting again.  Mind you, I'm not making beautiful sweaters and afghans,  or elaborate hats and scarves, but I've taken an interest in the craft again after many, many, many years.  We'll see where it goes from here!

I'm happy that tomorrow is payday....
For February to be a short month, it has been too long since we were last paid.

It's been a few weeks since I've linked up with Angie over at

MY HAPPY LIST...

so, here goes...

I'm happy that today is Tuesday, and we only have three and a half more days of school before Christmas break!

I'm happy that Jose came back to school yesterday.  His mama died last week, and he's been out...I really missed him too!

I'm happy that Lawren and MJ got their class rings last week....and have not lost them!

I'm happy because I remembered to bring ALL of the pieces to my coffee maker to school and was able to make a pot of hot, caffeinated deliciousness this morning.

I'm happy that the glass repairman replaced the window in my classroom....after at least a month of being in the darkness, and daily staring at a piece of plywood and glass shards.  My mood has improved 100% already!!

I'm happy that our whole family is planning a trip to Riverbanks Zoo for this coming weekend.  I cannot wait to once again experience the "Lights Before Christmas!"

My Happy List

Today is a super day to list all of the things that I'm HAPPY about....

so here goes....

We are having benchmark testing here at MCHS, so we are extending first and second periods for about two hours each.  I'm happy because I have great students in both classes and I'll get to spend an extra amount of time with them today!

My children semi-cooperated over the past weekend for my annual picture-taking session.  I always try to take group shots and individuals around the holiday season so I'll have at least one photo to send out with Christmas cards.  I think that most of the pictures turned out pretty good...what do you think??

I'm happy that we had so many family members at the get-together at Larry and Gayle's house on Saturday. 

I'm doubly happy that we've already set the date for the next Davis family gathering....

lunchtime on December 31 @ the cabin! 

I can hardly wait!

Pippi is feeling better, and that's GREAT news.

She was a little puny over the weekend, but I think it was because she overindulged during Thanksgiving!

I've committed to host a

MY HAPPY LIST

for today...

Today is the last day of school for this week....we have a loooooong weekend to celebrate my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving.

We just had a Faculty/Student basketball game at school and the teachers spanked the students and won by 30 points!  Go MCHS teachers!!

I've already done part of my shopping for Thanksgiving supper so I don't have to go out searching for the major items I need.  I'll have to go get a few little things, but not anything big....like the turkey!

Tomorrow we get to go to the J&K for lunch.  I'll be so happy to see Markie, one of my all-time favorite friends.  Oh, and I'll get good chicken tenders and a superb salad too!

We've been invited to go over to Cheraw on Saturday for lunch with Larry and Gayle, and hopefully others too!  HOORAY for family get-togethers!

I straightened my hair on Sunday before going to church and it is still straight!  It is amazing how just a smidge of effort can pay off for a low-maintenance girl!

My Happy List

I'm happy...

..that I had time to make a peanut butter and honey sandwich for my breakfast.

..because I verified my students' grades on the computer and the lowest grades were in the mid-80's!  Way to go y'all!  I'm so proud of you!!

..because my house was full of teenagers last night, carving pumpkins, talking, and having fun!

..that our principal told the faculty that we can wear jeans to school on Friday because it is the last Friday in the month AND we can wear them on Monday because we are having College Application Day for seniors!  I love soft, cotton, comfy jeans!!

..because today is probably the last day of varsity volleyball season.  We travel to Chapin today to play a #1 ranked  team, and we are ranked only 4th in our region.  Anyway, good luck girls!  Go Bulldogs!!

..everyday I am reminded to set my priorities and let irrelevant things go.

..because I am a child of God....no perfect, but forgiven!

I'm happy because most of my students have gone on a field trip today to Florence.  They are touring a hotel and restaurant and will then have lunch.  It's really nice to have a "day off" while still at school.

I'm happy that the girls and I made the decision not to play softball in Spartanburg on the weekend of Oct. 22-23.  That is a big commitment lifted off of my shoulders.  We all need a little time at home.

I'm happy for Charles because he shot his first deer of the season.....I'm definitely NOT HAPPY for the poor, innocent deer though.  :(

I'm semi-happy with the results of my blog make-over....but who knows....more changes may be a-coming!

I'm happy that my dear niece posted this picture on her blog....seeing it brought back many happy memories!

I'm happy because I'm making a big pot of homemade vegetable soup when I get home from school today!  I've been wanting some thick, hot soup, and the rainy weather today calls for just that!

I'm happy that I decided to link up and blog about what I'm happy about today!  It's refreshing and rewarding to reflect on the small things in my life that make me HAPPY!
