Saturday Centus - Sixteen

Jenny Matlock

(I preface this by saying that I have 16-year-old twin daughters,
and it has been a looooong time since I was sixteen...)

Life was about school, babysitting, home. Such a wonderful time. Wish my girls had those priorities.

  1. This brings me to happy memories of my teens. I forgot about babysitting. Thanks for reminding me of some of the good stuff.

  2. Yes, things have really changed. I think we have lost something in the passing of time. We are faster, newer, more modern...but well, old was better in many ways.

  3. yes! Although I hated babysitting...wasn't very good at it because I didn't have very good parenting role models. Glad you experienced happiness and joy in your teen years.

  4. I loved babysitting. We were a little strapped for cash, and it was my ticket to the movies!
Sounds like you came from a loving and stable family.

  5. It was a more innocent time, wasn't it? And we all babysat! Most kids now aren't willing to go there...

  8. With only using the 16 words I couldn't include all that too, but that was the way it was for me as well! ~Ames

  9. Oh Jo. I love how much you expressed in these 16 tiny words. Well written...and such a true sentiment. I often wonder how some of my kids lost their direction, too.

    Warm holiday wishes!
