30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 15

[Day 15]
Bible Verse
I'm linking up with Katie K. for the next month or so for the 30 Day Blog Challenge.
Wish me, and everyone else who's participating, perseverance and good luck!

My all time favorite Bible verse is Psalm 118:25.
"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."
Remembering this verse each morning, along with the short prayer,
"Lord, help me to remember that nothing is going to happen to me today
that You and I together can't handle,"
help me to have a good day.

Two other favorite verses come from Philippians:
4:6  "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank him for all He has done."
4:13  "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Lastly, the end of one of Jesus' parables:
Matthew 25:40  "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you did for me.'"

Goals
I'm linking up with Katie K. for the next month or so for the 30 Day Blog Challenge.
Wish me, and everyone else who's participating, perseverance and good luck!

I actually have over 101 goals.  I made a list of 101 things that I want to accomplish in 1001 days, and am very conscientiously trying to work on my self-imposed projects.

If you'd like to peruse my goals, please see the left-hand column of my blog page.

Saturday 9

Saturday 9: I'm So Proud

1. What are you proud of?  I'm proud that I worked hard and have an education and a career.  I'm also proud that I have three strong, healthy, well-rounded teenagers who I love very much.

2. What is the best thing you’ve ever won as a prize? How did you win it?  I'm not usually lucky at winning prizes, but at a yearbook workshop, I won two NFL tickets.  I raffled them off to benefit L and MJ's softball team.....

3. Tell us about something you've done that in retrospect was a waste of time.  I don't know that anything is truly a waste of time.....everything has a purpose...

4. How old were you when life changed the most for you? How did it change?  Between the ages of 30 and 32....I got married, bought a house, and had a baby....

5. Tell us about a place you that you've been that you considered to be very tranquil.  The most tranquil place on earth is on the sandy beach on a slightly breezy, sunny day, listening to the waves crash onto the shore....

6. Who is your favorite news anchor/reporter? Why?  I loved Walter Cronkite, but he's not around anymore....he was so sincere, knowledgeable, earnest, and trust-worthy...

7. If you were to have the opportunity to name a new town or city, what would you call it? Why?  I would name it Pleasantville, or something peaceful sounding....and only loving, kind, non-confrontational people could move in...

8. What is something about which you've always wondered but have not yet found a good answer?  When I get to heaven, will I get to see my mama and daddy (and other family members and friends) again?  Will I recognize them and will they know me?

9. When you can't go to sleep, what is your personal remedy to help yourself drift into Lullabyland?  I usually get up and watch TV until my eyes get heavy, and then get back into bed.

Fill in the Blank Friday

1.   I am       a follower of Jesus, a wife and a mama, a teacher, and hopefully a positive role model for those that I encounter each day.

2.  I wish   that everyone would treat others like they would like to be treated  .

3.  I like       spending time with my children and my husband, reading, sewing and crafting, cooking, and watching reality TV     .

4.  I can   hardly wait we get to the beach this afternoon....we are going out to eat a vegetarian pizza (The Berkeley) at Ultimate California Pizza!  YUM!!

5.  I hope      that as my children grow and mature, they will realize how much I love them and know that I only want the best for them.

6.  I think        that everything happens for a reason, and everyone has a purpose here on this earth.

7.  I was       once the daughter of the best mama ever, and I miss her terribly everyday      .

Happy Friday Everyone....

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 12

[Day 12]
What you believe
I'm linking up with Katie K. for the next month or so for the 30 Day Blog Challenge.
Wish me, and everyone else who's participating, perseverance and good luck!

First and foremost, I believe in the
Holy Trinity...
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

I believe that people are basically good.

I believe that good prevails and hard work pays off.
I believe that you should not expect handouts.  No one owes you anything.

I believe that you should treat people the way you'd like to be treated.

I believe that you should try to make good choices in life.
I believe that you should do the right thing because it's the right thing to do.

I believe that prayer changes things, and God answers prayers in His own time and in His own way....not necessarily the way we think He should.

I believe that children are gifts from God.

I believe that I'm a lucky, lucky person to have been chosen by God to be my mama's daughter, my siblings' sister, my husband's wife, and my childrens' mama.

Thursday Thunks

1. Berleen is sending you away again. You can travel anywhere in the world; one destination per day from Friday through Monday. Where do you go and why?
On Friday, I'll lay on the beach and enjoy the salty air, the sunshine, and the sound of the waves crashing on the sand.  Saturday, I'll travel to the mountains of NC, drive along the Blueridge Parkway and enjoy the beautiful fall leaves.  Sunday, I'll just crash here at home, and probably work on laundry...

2. Would you keep a secret from the closest person to you if you thought it was in their best interest?
Depends on the secret...but I probably would....
