Miscellany Monday

Once again it is time to link up with Carissa for
MISCELLANY MONDAY...

The weather here is definitely bi-polar!  One minute it's cool and cloudy, and the next it is hot and sunshiny.  Gotta love (or at least tolerate) the crazily changing SC climate..
Today

We had a wonderfully quiet weekend at our house.  Chuck was out-of-town teaching for the SCFA and MJ and Charles were on the golf course.  Lawren and I spent time together shopping, talking, and having a pedicure....my first!  It was really nice too!!

I forgot to mention the Friday night softball news in my other posts over the weekend...  Marlboro played Lakewood at home, and both the JV and varsity teams won.  MJ was the catcher in her game, and also hit an in-the-park grand slam!  Lawren played right field, and went 3 for 3 batting.  Her average continues to increase and will hopefully surpass some of the other players' so she will receive the recognition she deserves.
Two games are on the schedule for this week...Tuesday, MCHS vs. Crestwood, and Friday, MCHS @ Hartsville....a super, super big game for both teams!!

I've about finished the three Relay for Life lap quilts that I've been working on.  The MCHS team is going to sell raffle tickets for them for $1.

I hope everyone has a magnificent Monday!

Saturday 9: Sweet Soul Music

Saturday 9: Sweet Soul Music
1. Do you listen to music at work, and if so, do you use a mp3 player, play it through your office computer, or do you listen to it collectively via a separate radio you keep nearby?  I'm a teacher, so I don't get to listen to music throughout the day.  I do allow my students to listen to their mp3's after they are finished with their assignments.  I also accompany one of my classes to the weight room, and sometimes the coach turns up the volume on some classic rock to get the kids motivated....

2. Tell us something about people that you absolutely hate.  I absolutely hate strongly dislike dishonesty and deception within people.....

3. What is something someone has done that you'd like the world to know about?  I'd like the world to know that my mama worked very hard to raise 5 children pretty much on her own, and she did a great job, if I do say so myself.....I hope that one day my children think of me in half the way I remember her......

4. Where is your favorite place to sit when at home?  I like to sit on the end of the couch, but that doesn't happen very much....I'm usually up moving around taking care of little things....

5. How did you come up with the title of your blog?  When I started the blog, I had no idea what to name it, so I just chose "Everyday Life" kind of as a last minute thought with the intention of changing it...

6. Tell us about the one who got away.  He didn't get away...I handed him two grocery store paper bags and told him to leave!!

7. Have you ever had a big birthday party?  Nope....but my 50th birthday is coming up....maybe it will happen then....

8. What was the biggest bash you've ever attended?  Probably a wedding....been to lots of those....

9. With my kids and an always changing life, I find myself sometimes unable to focus! Do you have that problem, too?  Yep....sometimes I'm pulled in so many different directions with my children, husband, career, etc., that I just can't seem to get it all together.

Fill in the Blank Friday

1.   Something that makes me a great friend is,       that I am true and honest.  I don't have a lot of friends, but those that I have, I am their friend for life. .

2.  I am    a dedicated, patient teacher, a tolerant mother, a loving wife, a terrible housekeeper, and a child of God....    .

3.  I am not     a fan of too much sudden  change or inconsistency,  tolerant of lying, stealing and cheating....

4.  If I had to describe myself in 3 words, they would be     patient, accommodating, and crafty.....

5.  Something I'm really cheap about is     clothes for myself....

6.  Something I'm willing to splurge on is      my children....I don't necessarily splurge money on them, but I am very free with my time and energy where they are concerned..... .

7.  I would trade       my life       for       the assured safety and well-being of my husband and children  in a heartbeat.

The Graduate

It hit me like a ton of bricks....
I knew it was coming;  I had plenty of time to prepare for it.....

The time has come for
Charles to graduate from high school!
Today, the seniors got their caps, gowns, tassels, announcements, and extra goodies from the Josten's representative.  Charles brought his bag down to my classroom and we looked at everything.

WOW....my baby is graduating....that's all I could think...WOW!

Excuse me, but where did the last 17 years go??
It seems like I just brought him home from the hospital...
and now he's finishing high school?

Charles, you make me so proud.  You have grown up to be a smart, caring, hard-working young man, and I love you.  Always remember that I am here for you, through good times and bad, and that you will always be
my baby.

"I'll love you forever.
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my baby you'll be."

Miscellany Monday

Once again it is time to link up with Carissa for
MISCELLANY MONDAY...

Our family had a wonderful weekend....very quiet and low-key.  L and MJ went on a Spanish field trip on Saturday and Charles worked at CCC, so Chuck and I just hung out together and talked....with no interuptions!!

Sunday, we went to SS and church, and then Chuck and I went to Florence for lunch and to buy shoes for him.  We also walked around in the bookstore and then bought necessities at Wal-Mart.

Sunday supper was Pizza Hut Veggie Lovers Pizza....YUM!!

Chuck and Charles have their monthly BFD meeting tonight, so that means no cooking for me!  The girls and I can just pick up something after their softball practice....or not!  We may just eat leftovers or noodles!

The weather has finally cleared up, but I heard a cold front is moving through tonight.  I am serioucly sick and tired of rain.  Bring on spring, please!!

Well, I hope everyone has a marvelous Monday....
