It's OK...

..to be so excited that high school softball season is finally starting!

..that our Valentine's Day supper was postponed because of Chuck's class.  We'll get together hopefully soon.

..to insist on only Kleenex brand tissue....I despise any other facial tissue, and right now, I have a cheap box on my desk...ugggh! :(

..to be upset that my oven has quit working again!  I wish Charles would take time to look at it and see if he can fix it...

..that I'm semi-addicted to Pinterest.  I look perusing the site and pinning ideas, products, and crafts for future reference.

..to be worried about my student who is in the hospital.  Please get well soon....we miss you!

..to make a plate of spaghetti and sauce for Pippi's supper instead of putting it away as leftovers.

..to be happy that L and MJ are getting along so nicely these days.  They are planning to go out together for supper Friday night, just the two of them!  :)  :)

the turkey gnocchi soup that I made from the leftover Thanksgiving turkey legs...YUM!

the great turnout that we had for the Advent Fair at FUMC.  We made wreaths and ornaments, and then played Christmas BINGO.  Fun, fun, fun!

that our baby, Pippi, is feeling better.  I was really worried about her at the end of last week.

My Happy List

Today is a super day to list all of the things that I'm HAPPY about....

so here goes....

We are having benchmark testing here at MCHS, so we are extending first and second periods for about two hours each.  I'm happy because I have great students in both classes and I'll get to spend an extra amount of time with them today!

My children semi-cooperated over the past weekend for my annual picture-taking session.  I always try to take group shots and individuals around the holiday season so I'll have at least one photo to send out with Christmas cards.  I think that most of the pictures turned out pretty good...what do you think??

I'm happy that we had so many family members at the get-together at Larry and Gayle's house on Saturday. 

I'm doubly happy that we've already set the date for the next Davis family gathering....

lunchtime on December 31 @ the cabin! 

I can hardly wait!

Pippi is feeling better, and that's GREAT news.

She was a little puny over the weekend, but I think it was because she overindulged during Thanksgiving!

Miscellany Monday/Weekend Recap

The weekend started with Postgame on Main at FUMC.  We had an eclectic crowd this week....mostly older guys who were playing basketball.

For my birthday celebration, Chuck took the girls and me to Florence to the Mellow Mushroom.  It was soooo delicious, and we had way too much food!

The girls and I had a nice shopping adventure to Bath & Body Works at the mall.  We bought a lot of the holiday scents in lotions, creams, and body wash.  There is no reason for any of the Black females to smell bad!

Sunday was All Saints Sunday at our church.  This service is one of my favorites of the year.  We remembered seven church members who have died in the last year.  A candle was lit and a bell chimed for each one.  (I miss my mama so much....)

A terrible accident occurred at our house right after church on Sunday.  L and MJ came home and were playing around, and Lawren threw her phone at MJ.  MJ moved, and the phone hit the TV screen!  Yes, the big, new TV that we got for Christmas last year!  We are all devastated....and we won't be able to replace it anytime soon. :(

Josh and MJ gave Pippi a much-needed bath last night.  She had a lot of fleas, and it took a long time for them to pick them all off of her.  Hopefully Josh will get the flea medicine for her today....

that the Bulldogs won their football game on Friday night and are now the Region 6 AAA champions.  Let's do it again this Friday and beat the Camden Bulldogs!

Now I'm ready for the new Survivor on Sept. 14th!!

that I finally had time to pack up my coffee maker and take it to school with me.  Some mornings I just need a cup to start my day off right!

the time that we are taking for the rest of this week to bond and reconnect.  When things are so busy and hectic around the house and at school, it's time to apply the brakes and just say, "Whoa!  We are going to stay at home and just be with each other for a few days." 

It's obvious that this quiet time is past due, huh?
