Fill in the Blank Friday

1.   The best prank I ever pulled was       probably non-existent. I am definitely not a prankster...

6.  I dread       getting up each morning (I'm not a mornign person for sure!), buying gas for my car, and folding laundry!!!

7.  A discovery I made this week was       a lot of people underestimate me and my skills, talent, fortitude, and patience....don't do that please....it just makes you look dumb!!   :))

Show Us Your Life - Your Church

It has been awhile since I have linked up with Kelly for her Show Us Your Life Blog Hop, but I could not pass on talking about my church.

BTW....here is the link to our church's website....
We are members of and attend First United Methodist Church in Bennettsville.
It is an old church that sits right on Main Street.  We have a beautiful sanctuary...
and a huge Christian Education building that attaches to the rear of the sanctuary.
Here are a few more pictures of the inside of the church....

The altar...

The prayer room....

The narthex....
Next door to the main building is the Methodist Family Life Center.  We have lots of activities, meals, church league basketball games, parties, and Bible school in this building.  During football season, it is a teen-hangout as we host "Postgame on Main" after each home game.
The Family Life Center...
My family and I love our church and support it with our prayers, presence, and service.  It is definitely a place where we can go to feel the love of God and worship with others who are true believers.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm  so pleased to participate in this week's edition of
What I'm Loving Wednesday!
(Keep reading and you'll see why...)

I'm loving that the MC Lady Bulldogs varsity softball team defeated the Darlington Falcons in a long, defensive game.  The score was 0 - 0 for most of the game, and in the bottom of the 7th, Dakota hit a double and brought in the only run of the game, and Marlboro was victorious!  It was seroiusly a  tense game, but everyone was so happy that the Bulldogs came out on top!!

I'm loving little Pippi, MJ's puppy.  She is certainly a handful, but cute as she can be!

Sorry, but I'm definitely NOT loving all of this rainy, cool weather.  C'mon now....it's about April!  We need sunshine and warmth!

I'm loving that Charles has a prospective job on the line.  He may start working on the greens at Clio Country Club!  HOORAY!!  He needs a paying job!!

I'm loving, as always, my three lively teenagers and my sweet, reliable husband.  They are my reasons for being.....I love you all!

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters
I know I'm running late this week, but I still wanted to share a
few thoughts on one of my favorite memes
MISCELLANY MONDAY!

It's the last week of March!  I remember that March definitely came "in like a lion," so I'm hoping it will "go out like a lamb" as the saying goes!  My fingers are crossed....
I'm still working with my medical homebound student.  I go see him on Mondays and Wednesdays.  Hopefully he'll be able to go back to school soon as review for state-wide testing is starting.

We're studying neighborhoods and signs this week.  I've got lots of creative ideas to work into my lesson plans.  We are going to have so much fun with these two topics!

I've finished one of the Relay for Life lap quilts and just have to tie the other one before it is complete.  I'm planning to make one more for the school's team to raffle off as a fundraiser.  The coach who's the team leader is "Fundraising Trough the Alphabet," so this is, of course, an effort for the letter Q!!

MJ and Josh are finally and officially a couple!
I'm happy, and I'm happy that they are happy!! :))

MJ and Josh in Ft. Benning, GA....graduation from
basic training
Enough for this Monday.....hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Fill in the Blank Friday

1.   My most prized possession is       my mama's diamond ring that she left me when she died.....I would have said my children because they belong to me and they are definitely irreplaceable, but calling them possessions is just not right.... .

2.  If I could be one age for the rest of my life, I would want to be    in my 20's. I was a grown-up, had a good job teaching in a near-by school, and felt happy and satisfied with my life.  Of course, I have it pretty good now too.....great husband and three teenagers....who could ask for more??

3.  The best way to spend a weekend is    sleeping late on Saturday morning, hanging out with the family, a good meal, worship service at church and relaxing on the couch watching TV with my husband....through in a softball game or two, and the weekend would qualify as terrific!!!

4.  My outlook on life is     that everything happens for a reason, and that God does not give you any more than you can handle.  Make the most of the days you have and appreciate the little things before they are gone. .

5.  If you want to annoy me, just     lie to me or steal from me.....those two things make me very annoyed..... .

6.  I am completely defenseless when it comes to       snakes and frogs.....

7.  When dressing for the day one should       check the weather, believe about half of the forecast, and then dress comfortably in layers of natural fibers.....    .

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I love linking up with Jamie each week for
What I'm Loving Wednesday...

I'm loving All the Rage salon and spas tanning beds!  I know, I know....I'm slowly quickly killing myself....but I love to tan.  I don't tan year-round....maybe for a month or so.  Just long enough to get a slight base tan beginning in spring.

I'm loving that I have my planning period during the time when Chuck eats his lunch.  We are able to take a few minutes together during the school day and sit down for a bite to eat, providing that no major discipline event occurs....

I'm loving my classroom assistant, Susie Suggs.  I have never had an assistant to work with me and was quite nervous knowing that I'd have a stranger in my classroom .  Well, I hit the jackpot when Mrs. Suggs walked into the room.  She and I are completely on the same page!  When I have to step out of the room for a moment, she picks right up where I leave off and continues instruction and maintains discipline without missing a beat.  I'm one lucky teacher to have a helper and friend like her!!  (I'll post a a pic of her as soon as I get around to taking one.....)

I'm loving that L and MJ are going to visit their aunt Chandler in Berkeley this summer.  They are flying out to California on June 22 and will be home on July13.  They are making their lists of things they want to see and do while in the Bay Area.  Three whole weeks without them....what will I do??  I'll miss them so much, but I know they'll have the time of their lives!!

I'm loving The Help by Kathryn Stockett.  I have been reading this novel slowly and enjoying every word in it.  The story takes place in Mississippi in the early 60's and tells about the civil rights struggles in the south and the treatment of domestic help in homes.  Like the children in the book, I was raised during this exact time period by a "maid."  Then, of course, I had no idea about the complexities of just dealing with interactions between the employee and employer.  I feel like I am so wrapped up in the lives of the characters right now that I'm going to miss them when I complete the book!

PS....I know it's Thursday and I'm a day late with WILW....my life got in the way of posting yesterday!
