It's OK Thursday

Its Ok Thursdays

I'm linking up with Amber and Neely for this week's edition of
"It's OK" Thursday"

It's OK...
..to go to bed at 9:00 PM every now and then.

..to wish that you could go to bed at 9:00 PM EVERY night!

..to still drink two cups of strong coffee to help wake you up after sleeping a full 9 hours.

..that we are having parent/teacher conferences this afternoon and tomorrow morning, and I firmly expect NO visitors.  Sad, but true!

..to feel sad for some people who are so out of touch with reality that they don't know what the world is about...

..to push my children to become independent, to follow through, and to not give up when things get tough.

..to wonder and worry about adolescents who are the product of today's parents and don't see the value in any of the above.

..to get riled up and vent on my blog about issues that are on my heart and my mind!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

As usual, I'm linking up with Jamie for
What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm loving...
that tomorrow is my Friday.  We are having parent/teacher conferences in our district on Thursday evening and Friday morning, so we won't have any students at school.

I'm loving....
that I may be getting a new key for my classroom door!  My key will LOCK my door but will not UNLOCK it...(small things make me really happy:)

(and while we're on the subject of school...)
I'm loving....
these terrific kids in my second period class!  They are the coolest!

 I'm loving...
the cooler weather we've been having!  Thank goodness fall is on the way!

I'm loving...
that the girls and I are going to Rock Hill this weekend for a softball tournament.
GO CYCLONES!!

I'm loving....
the Boston butt that is in the crock pot cooking for our supper!  I'm planning to make take the meat off the bone and make it into BBQ.  I am also going to fix cole slaw and sweet potato fries to go with it!  YUM....I can hardly wait!

I'm loving...
that tonight the next episode of Survivor, one of my favorite TV shows!

(and as always....)
I'm loving...

these silly girls....

this hungry boy....

and my earnest, hard-working sweetheart!

Miscellany Monday

(I linked up with Carissa for another edition of Miscellany Monday!)

Lawren has tonsilitis....
I don't think it is a bad case, but when she woke up Saturday morning, she was complaining of an earache on top of the sore throat complaint of Friday.  We drove over to Laurinburg to the Urgent Care, saw a PA, and picked up her prescription.    She's feeling much better now, thank goodness!

There's a varsity volleyball match this afternoon in Dillon.  The girls played good last week but lost out against Crestwood and Camden, but beat Darlington.  They've practiced a lot, and I guess we will see if that pays off this afternoon.

One of my students was singing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" today in class!  I wish that I could have recorded him....it was precious!  True, he's a high schooler, but he's so sweet and good-spirited in his own way.  His song made me smile :)

Today is the last day of school before intercession for my former school.  They will be out for a three week break since they are a year-round school.  I sure wish that I was face-to-face with a vacation when I awakened in the morning.

I've finally made an appointment with my family doctor to have my sinus infection checked out.  I've suffered long enough.  My appt. is Friday morning at 9:30.  We have parent/teacher conferences Thurs. evening and Fri. morning, so I'll probably not miss too much!

Have a marvelous Monday, y'all!

Monday Music Moves Me

This week's theme on
MONDAY MUSIC MOVES ME
is a song from the year your were born....

My year is 1961, and I chose this Elvis song because in November of that year, my older brothers and sister got their first "Little Sister".....
ME!

(Go link up with Xmas Dolly....link up and join the fun!)
PS...other than the words "Little Sister"...this song is definitely not about me!!  LOL
