Friday Fill-Ins
1. It's easy to tell the truth....then you don't have to remember lies.
2. Skip to my lou my darling.
3. Once upon a time, there were two beautiful little girls....
4. That's it, we are not discussing it ... the end.
5. What is on your mind?
6. Hopefully you will realize that your mama is right sooner than later.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to the homecoming football game at MCHS, tomorrow my plans include sleeping late and then hanging out at home and Sunday, I want to go to Sunday school and church, having a nice family dinner, and then who knows??
It's OK Thursday
I'm having a hard time coming up with
"It's OK" Thursday
statements today....
It's OK....
..for MJ to believe that she and her bf are "taking a temporary break" from each other. I've used that line myself and I know what it means.
..to take four Pepcid AC's in a 24-hour period....isn't it?
..to be overjoyed that I have a meeting scheduled for 12:30 today to dismiss one of my former students. He no longer qualifies for services, and that is a good thing!
..for me not to go to the volleyball match in Latta this afternoon. Hopefully they will win, even without me there to cheer them on.
..to plan for just leftovers for supper tonight. I've cooked for the past three nights in a row so we have plenty of food in the refrig we can heat up.
..to be sad that Charles loves to hunt...I feel so sorry for the innocent animals who are gunned down while they are just hanging out in the woods.
(Yes, I understand survival of the fittest, thinning out the herd/flock, etc., but still, I'm sad...)
..to love my job/career so much! My students are very spirited and try so hard to be academically successful! I'm super proud of all of them!!

What I'm Loving Wednesday
I'm loving...
the big bowl of hot, homemade vegetable soup that I had for supper last night.
I've wanted it for a loooong time, and the rainy weather inspired me to go ahead and cook it.
I'm loving...
that Fall is in the air and the temps are cooling off.
I'm loving...
the excitement in the voices of my students as they told me about the field trip that went on yesterday.
I'm loving...
my new followers. I've made several new blogging friends over the past week or so and have also found several new blogs to follow myself.
I'm loving...
Homecoming Week 2011 at MCHS! Today is "Tacky Day" and we have some students who should win a prize for TACKINESS :)
Go Bulldogs!!
I'm loving...

We Want to Know Wednesday
{1} What is your feel better remedy when you are sick? Lots and lots of rest, Motrin, and Coca-Cola!
{2} When illness strikes, what is your policy on staying home from work, school or church with yourself and the family? If you have a fever, you must stay home...otherwise, take some Motrin, grab some tissue and cough drops, and move on...
{3} What do you think is worse? Flu or cold? I've never had the flu, but I've heard that it is AWFUL..so I guess the flu is the worst. :(
{4} Flu shots? Do you get them? Have you yet? When my children were toddlers, my mama insisted that I have a flu shot every year, but still, I've never had the flu (knock on wood) so I don't take them anymore...
{5} When are are feeling down, what is your usual, go-to therapy? (retail therapy, exercise, comfort food, etc). I cook, eat, and rest....

My Happy List
MY HAPPY LIST...
I'm happy because most of my students have gone on a field trip today to Florence. They are touring a hotel and restaurant and will then have lunch. It's really nice to have a "day off" while still at school.
I'm happy that the girls and I made the decision not to play softball in Spartanburg on the weekend of Oct. 22-23. That is a big commitment lifted off of my shoulders. We all need a little time at home.
I'm happy for Charles because he shot his first deer of the season.....I'm definitely NOT HAPPY for the poor, innocent deer though. :(
I'm semi-happy with the results of my blog make-over....but who knows....more changes may be a-coming!
I'm happy that my dear niece posted this picture on her blog....seeing it brought back many happy memories!
I'm happy because I'm making a big pot of homemade vegetable soup when I get home from school today! I've been wanting some thick, hot soup, and the rainy weather today calls for just that!
I'm happy that I decided to link up and blog about what I'm happy about today! It's refreshing and rewarding to reflect on the small things in my life that make me HAPPY!

Miscellany Monday
one
The Carolina Cyclones had a less that successful weekend in Greensboro. They played three games on Saturday and ended up in the losers' bracket :(
Our weekend of softball ended early Sunday morning with a loss to the NC Striker Force and a score of 5 - 0 (I think). We were home by 12:15 PM.
two
While we were in Greensboro, Lawren, MJ and I decided that for lunch on Saturday, we'd eat frozen yogurt. We saw a little place called Fenney's and went in to create our own yummy yogurt concoctions. I got pumpkin-spice yogurt topped with glazed walnuts!

three
The girls and I are in the midst of conversation concerning the role that travel softball will play in our future. Financially, it is a hardship, and showcase ball is not what we imagined it to be. Hopefully an open dialogue will continue and we will make the right decision for our family...
four
Charles killed his first deer of the season yesterday....
five
I recently received a friend request on Facebook from a former student. To say that I was thrilled would be the understatement of the year! This student was probably the very first that I became emotionally attached to. She was such a precious and smart four-year-old when I first met her and I knew that she had so much potential. Judging from the message I got, she has proven that what I saw in her on that very first day was right.....and I'm so proud!
Monday Music Moves Me
Soooooothing sounds for my

Monday morning....
Happy Monday y'all!
Make it a good one, if you can....
