1. What do you remember most about your 3rd grade teacher (if it’s nothing, you are welcome to substitute any teacher you had in grades 1-5)?
My 3rd grade teacher was Mrs. Rivers and she was BEAUTIFUL!  She had pitch black hair and wore it piled up on top of her head, beehive-style!  Years later, she committed suicide.....so sad :(

2. Where did you meet your first love?  In a bar...


4. Who did you look up to in elementary school?  The girls who were my older brothers' age....high school juniors and seniors of the early 70's!


6. What was the biggest clothing trend of your middle school years?All of our jeans came from the men’s department back then....Wranglers and Levis!

7. Tell us something about your childhood that you just cannot figure out to this day.I cannot figure out how people could have 5 or more children, work in an office day in and day out, and bring home only $128 per week, and we children still had everything we needed....

8. What was the best birthday you ever had?  I'm hoping this 50th (next month) will be IT!!
5. Who were the hot celebrity idols of your childhood?OMG....David Cassidy and Bobby Sherman!  (Harriet....you and I must be the exact same age!)
3. What kind of car did your parents have when you were in grade school?Hey...."we had that classic blue station wagon that held all of the kids in the back seat" too!  Ours was a Ford and Mama got it because my older sister and her family lived in  Washington, DC, and we usded to go up there for visits!

Saturday 9: Someday We'll Be Together

1. Have you ever left a relationship but knew that eventually you'd get back together?  No, when I'm done with a relationship, I'm done!
2. Are there things that you hate to buy? Items that you either hate to spend perfectly good money on or hate to spend the time it takes to buy them?  I hate buying cars!  It stresses me to the MAX!!
3. What is your favorite cartoon show and why?  I've always been a Bugs Bunny fan:)
4. Are you anywhere close to doing what you wanted to do as a kid?  Yep!  I decided in the 3rd grade that I wanted to be a special education teacher, and I've been one for 28 years now!
5. Now that you're in the "real world," is your current job now really what you want to do for a living? If not, what would you ultimately like to do?  Teaching sp. ed. is my calling and my passion....I'm exactly where I am meant to be!
6. A local university has asked you to teach a class about the one thing you know the most about. What would you be teaching and what would the name of the course be?  I'd teach  crafts....and it would be called "Try many and find your niche 101"
7. Commercials ... they can make us laugh or can annoy the heck out of us. Tell us about your favorite commercial and/or a commercial you simple loathe.  I LOVE the State Farm commercial where the guy says, "Ohhhh, I could have had a falcon!"  (I really want a Falcon....a 1961 Ford Falcon, that is....)  I loathe commercials about "male enhancement" and feminine products....  :(
8. Tell us about your favorite comedy movie of all time.  The Jerk, starring Steve Martin and Bernadette Peters....funniest movie of ALL TIMES!!!
9. Tell us about your favorite black and white movie of all time.  The Graduate....Dustin Hoffman falling for Mrs. Robinson....a true classic!

Fill in the Blank Friday


1.   Something popular that I can't stand/just don't "get" is      facial piercings....who wants to have a hole in their face?   
2.   Something unpopular that I secretly love is     my Crocs....so comfortable!!  

3.  When I've had a bad day I   pray and let it all go....   .

4. I'd prefer    a vegetarian meal    to    a big chunk of meat     any day.

5.  Something that makes me nervous is    car trouble and financial worries... .

6.  Something worth fighting for is     my children....I will love them unconditionally and stick up for them until the end....
7.  When people think of me, I hope they think    "she is a good person, a kind and caring teacher, and a loving mother and wife."

1. Do you have a favorite lipstick/lipgloss color?
Nope....don't wear it..
2. If there was a language you could learn to speak, which would you choose?
Spanish....I took French in high school and college, but I'd really love to speak Spanish...

3.  What other languages (besides English) can you speak?
Well....no other language.  HS and college was a long time ago and I've forgotten most of the French I knew.  I'm semi-fluent in ASL....need to practice more though.

4.  Are you a morning person?
No, definitely not!  I'm an afternoon person!

5. What are three of your pet peeves?
Crunching ice cubes, the sound of chalk on a blackboard, and untied shoes!

6. Are you dressing up for Halloween? If so, what are you going to be?
No, I'm not dressing up for Halloween.  Oct. 31st is Chuck's birthday so we usually go out for supper that evening.

7.  Do you believe in aliens?
No, I don't....

8. What was the last thing you purchased?
A diet Mt. Dew and cheese crackers....

9. Lions, tigers, or bears?
Oh my...
Tigers!!

10. What is one famous/interesting event that happened on your birthday? (just month and date, not year)
My birthday is Nov. 3rd, so it sometimes falls on election day!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm loving...

..that high school volleyball season is about over!  There have been too many inconsistencies and way too much favoritism shown this season.  New coach for next year, please!

..that this weekend's softball tournament in Greensboro is NOT a showcase tournament.  The girls will just be playing "trophy ball," so we should all have fun!


..that I finally remembered to bring the B&BW Winter Candy Apple lotion to school!  Now all of my students and I can smell like one of my favorite fragrances!
