We Want to Know Wednesday

{1} You have been asked to give a 10 minute speech to teenage girls. What is it about?   The first few minutes would be about making good choices....always stop and think.  The next few minutes would be about the importance of just being a kid.  You don't need to grow up too fast.  Enjoy the here and now.  The next would be about staying safe....stay in a group, don't smoke, drink or do drugs.  Lastly, do things in the correct order.  Education should be a priority.  Graduate from high school and then college, get a job, buy a few things you want, and then think about a husband and children.  Life will be so much easier if you don't try to reorder the natural flow....

{2} Do you have a pet? Tell us about them. No pets? Why? Yes, we have four dogs.  We have three backyard dogs, Lemon, Spanky, and Ricky Bobby, and an inside puppy, Pippi.

 

{3} What is the biggest inconvenience about the place you’re currently living? Actually I love the little town we live in, but we could use a few more restaurants.  It's inconvenient to go out of town to grab a quick supper on nights when the kids are playing sports.

{4} What do you think is the single best decision you have made in your life so far? The most recent best decision was moving to the high school in January.  I love working with the older kids.

{5} What are the THREE "nevers" of your life? (things you would never do or have never done).

* I'll never touch a snake.  I'll probably never die of a snake bite....I'll have a heart attack and die before it can bite me.

* I'll never use illegal drugs.

* I'll never forget the last few minutes I spent with my mama.

Questions:

1.  What is your favorite yogurt flavor?  Weight Watchers amaretto cheesecake....it's the best!!2.  Ankle or knee socks? and on the same theme, white socks or coloured??Ankle socks, and my socks usually match my clothes. 
3.  How is the weather right now?HOT and humid!
4.  Are you a fast typer?Yes, thanks to my high school typing teachers and a lot of practice.
5.  Red or White Wine?Neither....I'm not a wine drinker...

Charles' Graduation

Charles is officially a high school graduate.

It was a hot morning, June 4, 2011...

and Charles walked across the stage to receive his diploma.

Once again I ask, "Where has the time gone?"

You make me so proud.  You are a strong young man and you have your whole life ahead of you.  Make good choices, always do your best, and follow your dreams.

I love you more than you'll ever know, my son.

Friday Confessional

I confess....that I am a little excited about Charles graduating from Marlboro County High School tomorrow morning.  I also cannot believe that these years have passed by so quickly.

I confess.....that I am very proud to be Charles' mama and I love him very, very much!

1. I love       my children   because  they are mine.  They were a true gift from God, and I'm so lucky to have them..

2. A time that mama knew best was when she told me that I shouldn't get married the first time.  Of course, had I listened to her, then I may not have been in the right place in my life to meet Chuck, marry him, and have our three beautiful children.

3. My first kiss went a little like this     ...I actually cannot remember....must have been uneventful, huh?

4. My celebrity crush is  Billy Bob Thornton...he's just rough around the edges ..

5. My splurge of choice is      chocolate candy...

6. My biggest accomplishment is my role as the mama of our children and completing 27 years as a special education teacher.

7. My dance jam of choice is      ....IDK...I don't dance....

Friday Fill-Ins

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to cleaning the den and hallway carpet (not!), tomorrow my plans include seeing my son graduate from high school and Sunday, I want to go to Sunday school and church, be with my husband and children, and pack for the beach!

{1} If the blogging world had a talent show, what would your act be?  Definitely not singing, dancing, or playing a musical instrument....painting or quilting, I guess.

{2} What's the most likely reason you might become famous?  I will most likely be famous because I am the mother of someone who is likely to become famous.

{3} What question are you repeatedly asked that you are tired of hearing?  "What's for supper?"
